She studied Art at Foothill Community College and at San Francisco State
University, and later went on to earn her degree in business. About
the Art
Fusing is the process of heating pieces of glass until they melt together.
The glass is carefully heated to 1300-1600 degrees depending on the desired
affect. The glass is then slowly cooled to a specific time table appropriate
for the type and thickness of the glass. Some pieces may take 2 or 3 firings
and occasionally more to achieve the desired results. Before the glass
can be fused they must have the same coefficient of expansion (COE). The
COE is the rate at which the glass expands and contracts as it is heated
and cooled. If they don*t match the glass will crack. All
pieces are food safe, please hand wash.
