| Heidi Wilson was born
and raised in an artistic environment in Germany and schooled in Germany,
Switzerland and England, but didn't start painting seriously until 1968
in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She studied with Earlene Moses and later
in Japan with Shinjiro Nakamura, a well known impressionist artist in the
Tokyo area, mostly painting in oils in the 1970's.
After her move to California in 1973, she studied for several years with Jim Estey, who encouraged her to paint in watercolor and acrylics. Heidi has resided in El Dorado Hills since 1973 with her husband, Terry, and five daughters who, fortunately for them, live in the nearby areas with their grandchildren. Whether it happens to be the flora and fauna of Moorea, Tahiti - "...where the sun meets the moon" (a favorite place in Heidi's life), her visit to Monet's Gardens in Giverny, France, or the surrounding hills of El Dorado County, she feels very fortunate to be settled in the midst of California color. She surrounds herself with various "critters" including dogs, cats, koi fish, parrots and other birds. She has been teaching private classes in the area for over 25 years. Heidi is a member of the Gold Country Cooperative Artists' Gallery in Placerville, CA since its inception and enjoys the camaraderie and input of her fellow artists. |
