Most
of my work is conceptual in nature, relating to issues of the heart
and soul. In my life, I have experienced love, surrender, heartbreak...healing.
My work is about touching into these places and evoking the subtleties
and the intensity of these emotions. I often sit with a concept
until the most economical way of expressing it presents itself
to me. It is a challenge to try and express an experience such
as "faith" with words and still more of a challenge to try
to capture its essence with a single image.
My photography is very personal in nature. I often place myself in
the images. I used to say, jokingly, that it was because models were
hard to find. Now, it is clear to me that being in the work actually
is part of my quest in opening my own heart. I use the camera as a
tool for inner exploration and I share this journey with you.
