I have always had
a lifelong interest in the creation of art beginning as a child designing
paper dolls with my sister. I am a Minnesota native, having also lived
in Colorado and Massachusetts. After our move to California in 1996,
time and opportunity opened the way for the pursuit of art in a new
way. I feel very fortunate to have studied under well-known Sacramento artist and colorist Gary Pruner, accrediting him with fine-tuning my ability to observe as well as imparting his theory of color as delineated in "The Great Connection". I have also enjoyed the influence of other well-known Sacramento artists Fred Dalkey, Frank Zamora, and Michelle LeCompte. Studying with well-known Placerville artist Jim Estey has brought fluency and expressiveness to my work. I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel and camp extensively throughout the world. This has opened up many opportunities for me to intimately interact with people and nature in their purest physical form. My connection with the art community has enriched my ability to acutely observe this physical world in all its intricacies and complexities. Through the use of explosive color and the play of light on form, my goal is to impart these defining observations of nature and share them with others.
