| Elizabeth Sloan was
introduced to painting at a very early age by her mother, an art teacher.
Elizabeth’s appreciation was immediate. She won her first award in
a national exhibition at the age of 15. Many things have intervened over the years, but the love of painting was always in the background just waiting for the opportunity to come out again. Since moving to Placerville in 1989, that love blossomed. Her current choice of mediums are watercolor, pastel, and mixed media. She has extended her education and proficiency by studying with many nationally and locally known artists (such as Jill Figler, Anita Wolf, Dana-Sue Palemone, Sabina Harte Turner, Jim Estey, and Cheng-Khee Chee). Her works appear in many corporate and private collections and she has won numerous awards in art exhibitions. Elizabeth finds the beauty of painting, as in meditation, helps affect healing, both physical and emotional. Art nourishes the soul and frees the spirit! |
