Frances Zurek Morgan, a Chicago native, has always felt an inner need and desire to draw and paint since her earliest childhood memories. After high school, she was awarded a scholarship to the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Chicago, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. Upon graduation, she moved to California to be a member of the National Teacher Corp. She completed her Master’s Degree in Fine Arts, Elementary Teaching Credential and Single-subject Teaching Credential in Art, from San Diego State University. Throughout her career, she continually taught private and public art classes, created after-school art programs, and taught an ongoing drawing and painting class to seniors. The paintings, currently on exhibit, represent a personal approach to nature. With the use of painterly techniques, there is a strong unification of imagery creating compositional structure. Each painting is a display of intense colors and contrast. Her award-winning paintings are included in private and state collections throughout the country. She belongs to the Placerville Art Association, the Sierra Pastel Society and is an active member of the Gold Country Art Gallery. She currently lives in Placerville, California. |
