Most scenes for my landscapes are Plein Air Oils and include the American River, familiar El Dorado and Placer County locations, the beautiful California countryside and the Napa Valley.  ManyRosemary Griffin of these scenes, including the still life paintings, reflect the impressionistic influence of Susan Sarback, founder of the School of Light and Color, under whom I have had the privilege to study.

In contrast, I want my seascapes to capture those same emotions and feelings that are so special to anyone who knows and loves the ocean.  The greatest influence on this style has been the work of E. John Robinson of Mendocino.

Professional Organizations include, The Placerville Arts Association of El Dorado County and the Arts Council of Placer County.

I now live in Pilot Hill, CA with my husband, David, our beautiful Arabian horse and her best friends the mini donkeys, and our faithful dog and constant companion, Ranger.  It is in this inspiring place, overlooking the valley and coastal mountains beyond, that I continue to paint the places and faces that say so much.
