Paul has been interested in photography since he was a child and learned basic black and white developing and printing from his father in his garage darkroom. He has used medium and large format film cameras since 1984 and now primarily shoot with a Canon 5D Mark II digital SLR. Paul uses Photoshop CS5 to process his images and prints with an Epson 4880 printer. He strives for as much control as possible over his photography and he shoots, processes, prints, mats and frames all his own work.

Paul's photography interests include:

  • Landscape photography of El Dorado County and the Eastern Sierra including Mono Lake, Alabama Hills and Death Valley
  • Architectural photography of cities and buildings including Placerville and other Gold Country towns, Bodie, and old rustic barns and outbuildings
  • Photography of trains, vintage gas pumps, old cars and trucks, and other oddities

Paul does periodic classroom and field photography workshops including Photoshop, HDR image processing and camera setup and use. Contact Paul by email or visit his website for more details.
